General:

For full automatic blow  molding  machines, there are mainly two kinds of blowing method. 
1. Upper-blow model, which means bottom up, neck down, and the air will blow from the ground to the air.
2. Down-blow model, which means neck up, bottom down, and the air will blow from the air to the ground.


Introduction for each model:
1. Down-blow model.
Here are two pictures:


The Preforms get into the heating oven by "bottom up, and neck down" direction. and when the finished bottles get out of the bottle mold, the bottles keep the same direction. Bottom up and neck down. 


2. Upper-blow model, 
Here are two pictures:


The Preforms get into the heating oven by "neck up, and bottom down" direction. and when the finished bottles get out of the bottle mold, the bottles keep the same direction. neck up and bottom down. 

Advatange and disadvantage of each machine:

As we know, the preforms need to be heated by high temperature in the hearing oven.
And, in a physical way, the hot air in the heating oven is going up. 
But, as we know at the same time, the bottle neck no need to be heated, because it is 28mm or 30mm neck. it will keep the same shape before and after heating, which make sure the bottle will be better looking. 

And, when the hot air in the heating oven rise, it will hear the preform neck too, which means it will make the neck soft and flexible.
When the high pressure air is blowing to the heated neck, it may cause a little form-change, and a little damage.

Then, you can see, such kind of problem will nevery happen on the down-blow model machines. Just the cost of this kind of machine will be higher and the price will be higher too. But with better and more stable performance.
