When we talk about the 1 gallon, most of the people will take it as 3.78 liter.

That is right and correct, but not 100% right and correct. Because there are two  kinds of "gallon" in this world. UK gallon and USA gallon.

here is the difference:

1 UK gallon= 5.546 liter. 

1 USA gallon = 3.785 liter.

This big difference bothers a lot of people in the world. Then, most of them choose to take it by liters, which is the most popular way in the world. 

Actually, there are only a few countries in this world are still using gallons. Such as USA, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Guatemala, Haiti, Myanmar etc. 

and, in most of the  Caribbean sea island countries, they are using UK gallons.

What we want to express is, please tell us by liters if you are making a bottle molding machine. then we will know exactly what size bottles we are talking about. Which will help us a lot.
